Done with Apophysis 2.08beta2 modified with The Gimp.

This was one hell of a work! O_o
I've rendered 7 fractals with a resolution of 7200x5400 pixels for this picture and each fractal needed approximately 6 hours rendering time. So my computer was busy for about 3 days.
The rework with gimp was very tricky, because the whole picture kept getting bigger and bigger, so I had a final file size of nearly 300MB :jawdrop:
I've never worked on an image file THAT big and my system nearly crashed despite 4GB of main memory and a fast linux OS :faint:
So I hope it was worth the work and the stressing of my system. :XD: Fortunately the printfile didn't exeeded the maximum size of 60MB ;P

Vision:
Quite a view, that's for sure. Each one of the colored pieces is a view for itself, but the most impressing thing is how well they all go together. Is that really 7 different fractals? o.O if so, then i must say you also did a perfect job making them all go together into one piece.

Originality:
It's an endless number of fractals out there, everyone unique in their own way, but almost none i know of has used more fractals and put them all together to make one great piece of work, so this was a wonderful idea you had here. I have nothing to say on the originality either

Technique:
First of, the fractals here are seriously nice done, simple yet impressive, which makes it so that they don't drag too much attention from the whole picture.
The balance in the colors and the placement like the rainbow is also good, makes it better to look at and more impressive work of art.

Impact:
First thing i thought when i saw this was a i said above "how original", the thing that gives of the most impact for me is the balance, everything from the colors, the fractals themselves, the background, the shadows and everything else all blend perfectly together into one in this piece.

AMAZING and STUNNING is the only word i can say without having to write 100 pages...
What do you think?

No problem, English isn't my native language either ;)

I'm glad you like my work, thanks! :aww:
I also sell this print at my artflakes gallery --> [link]
Artflakes ships from Germany, since you're living in Italy, you could probably save some shipping and tax fees if you order there :)

Ive been trying to figure out how todo stuff like this for a while now! What kind of program to you use to render these fractals? I'd really love to get into this kind of art.

I use Apophysis to create the fractals and Gimp for the postprocessing. They are both freeware, so you can just download and use them. You can find a lot of tutorials for Apophysis at the #Apophysis group here at DA :)

Hello, first, a huge congratulations for this great painting, I fell in love at first sight!

The work done is extraordinary, the colors, the flames are so harmonious! Brief BRAVO!

I just have a quick question which may be related to my computer screen ...
Is it normal to see a slight delay (when enlarged) between the band and its reflection? beyond a few pixels viewable on the left or right ...
Having the original, you can tell me ^^

Very beautiful and very long work, bravo

But this is no painting, it's a fractal, a digitally rendered graphic. I created it with the program #Apophysis

I'm not sure if I understood you correctly, but there is no offset between the bars and their reflections in the print version. I'm afraid what you saw is caused by scaling. The dark shadow underneath the bars though is an intended effect :)

I mean just a 1280x1024, for my resolution. I'm not asking for the huge source file or anything. Just to clarify.

what if we just want it as a wallpaper, and not a print? is there an intermediate deal or something? Because I have no use for prints, but this would be an awesome wallpaper

There will be no wallpapers available due to art thieves. Some of my deviations where ripped and copied, so I'm not going to provide any downloadable images with a higher resolution than 600 pixels and without a watermark.

Rainbow fractal in reflective pieces, that's just awesome, I should try something like that with a wallpaper I made in the past. Inspiring work for me. :)
And 300 MB, for an image?! OMG... That's insane!

Don't give up! Everything must be learned, my first attempts were horrible too. Just give it a break and then try again.
Download some flamepacks and try to alter them. Thats much easier than creating your own, and it's a great practice ;)

Definitiv nichts, was ich hier hochladen würde. Das ganze Bild bekommt seine ganze Wirkung erst durch die Nachbearbeitung.
